A-Pak 100 mg Tablet
Indications
A-Pak 100 mg Tablet is prescribed for the relief of pain and inflammation associated with osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, low back pain (lumbago), toothache, and soft-tissue injuries or trauma.
Pharmacology
A-Pak 100 mg is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) with both anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties. It works primarily by inhibiting the enzyme cyclooxygenase (COX), which plays a key role in the synthesis of prostaglandins—substances responsible for pain, swelling, and inflammation. After oral administration, Aceclofenac is rapidly and completely absorbed and remains largely unchanged in the bloodstream.
Dosage & Administration
- Extended-release tablet: The usual adult dose is 200 mg once daily, or as directed by the physician.
- Film-coated tablet: The usual adult dose is 100 mg twice daily.
Interactions
No significant drug interactions have been commonly reported; however, careful monitoring is advised when Aceclofenac is administered with the following:
- Lithium or Digoxin: May increase serum concentrations of these drugs.
- Diuretics: May reduce the effectiveness of diuretic therapy.
Anticoagulants: May enhance the anticoagulant effect, increasing the risk of bleeding. - Methotrexate: May elevate plasma levels, increasing the risk of toxicity.

- Known hypersensitivity to Aceclofenac or other NSAIDs.
- A history of aspirin- or NSAID-induced asthma, urticaria, or allergic-type reactions.
